About

I was born in Tampa Florida, unfortunately Tom Brady would not arrive for another 41 years. When I turned 4 my dad got called up to the bigs in New York City to dominate the wholesale life insurance industry. After a decade there, and a Giants Super Bowl victory, we relocated to Washington D.C., where, again, we were met with another Super Bowl victory.

After graduating high school, I decided to attend, for reasons beyond all understanding, an all-male college in the backwoods of Virginia to study economics and fine art. Mistakes were made, mostly mathematical. But, with a passion for art, photography, design and an economics degree I landed at the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, GA. The Falcons did not win the Super Bowl.

I was then sent west to Los Angeles as a bright eyed junior art director, working at David & Goliath. There my time was spent making an unreasonable amount of running footage commercials for reasonably priced Korean cars. I didn’t know it at the time, but this was the beginning of my writing career.

It would take six years, several jobs and one memoir to realize that I was a much better writer than an art director. Fist bump to the good people at Goodness Mfg, who gave me that shot. A year or two later, I was writing a Super Bowl commercial for one of my heroes, Stephen Colbert. Who, coincidentally, went to that same all-male college in the backwoods of Virginia. The Seahawks won 43-8.

For the next five years I was a creative director at a small tech company selling doorbells out of a garage in Santa Monica, in charge of helping people understand why they needed a camera at their front door. Eventually, millions of people did and in 2018 Ring was bought by Amazon for billions of dollars. I saw none of that money, but did get to meet Jeff Bezos once. He smelled rich.

Recently, I have helped create campaigns for Prolon: a nutrition technology company attempting to convince people to eat scientifically, and back at the Wonderful Company, to help them get people to eat nothing but pistachios. Go Rams.

TLDR: East Coast moved to West Coast. Art director turned writer. Funny dad who likes sports.
